Who runs PDF Access.
PDF Access is operated by Busy Wait AB, a company registered in Sweden and based in Göteborg, as part of busy-wait.com.
What we do
We run a free automated accessibility check for PDF documents and a paid remediation service in which every file is tagged, read with a screen reader by a specialist, validated with the standard tools and delivered with a written report. Prices are fixed and shown before payment.
Who it is for
agencies and studios, public-sector suppliers, universities and research groups, nonprofits, accessibility teams: anyone who publishes English-language reports and needs them to work for readers who use assistive technology.
How we work
- Automated checks
- pdf.js and pdf-lib on our own serverless functions; PAC 2024 and the Acrobat accessibility checker after repair.
- Screen readers
- NVDA on Windows and VoiceOver on macOS, reading the document start to finish.
- Remediation
- Adobe Acrobat Pro for tagging, reading order, alternative text, table headers, language, title and bookmarks.
- Standard
- WCAG 2.1 AA with PDF/UA-1 structure, which also satisfies Section 508.

How your files are handled
- Uploads are stored privately with Netlify in the United States and are never served from a public URL.
- Analysis runs on our own serverless functions. Documents are never sent to third-party AI or automated tagging services.
- Unpaid files are deleted after 7 days; paid jobs 30 days after delivery. Earlier deletion on request.
- Every processor is listed on the privacy and retention page.
Our commitments
- One offer with the total and delivery date before you pay; no subscription and no account.
- A full refund if the agreed scope is not delivered by the agreed date.
- One correction round for defects within scope, included with every job.
- No certificates of compliance. The report states what was verified, how and with which tools, and nothing more.
